About TeamB4Ego

Whenever people get together for a "team" event or are in a situation whereby they have a chance to stand out, there are Egos and those Egos can lead to argument and conflict and the "team" not pulling together because of the "Egos" wanting to play their part.

When people realise that to put their Egos aside and work for the team is more important, then they achieve "TeamB4Ego" and with that they get harmony with each person doing their part for the TEAM.

Meet the team

Panic 2012 Events.

This year Panic will attend the following events.
Dabchicks Regatta – 26/27 May.
Felixstowe, as part of the Felixstowe Regatta – 13/15 July.
Burnham, as part of Burnham Week – 25/26 August.

We will also be sailing the Saturday points series in Brightlingsea and possibly some Friday nights over in Mersea.

We will also be sailing in Pyfleet Week in early August.

Geoff Gritton

Geoff is the guy at the back. He believes that the helm should concentrate on keeping the boat speed up and NOT looking outside the boat and detracting from that one objective.  So this past season in the SB3 saw the team win a race at the Worlds in the Silver fleet. It is time to move on and with the purchase of Panic a whole new set of challenges await him and the team. The first outing couldn’t have been better with a line honors and handicap win

Russell Dent

Russell has known Geoff for… Well longer than most people…So he was the first person Geoff called when the SB3 was beckoning. Russ runs the front of the boat and calls all the tactics downwind. He is also the calming influence on the boat and is a very much “half full” type of guy. His commitment to the SB3 and the team is never in doubt.

Kevin Butler

After a year away from sailing, Kevin has come back as mainsheet trimmer on board Panic. It was great having Kevin back on the boat as he has been sorely missed, and the skill set he brings is second to none. Welcome HOME…

Chris Harvey Steps up.

Every team needs “the good photographic one”.. Well we have that in the guise of Chris Harvey.. Only kidding..He brings an enthusiasm and work ethic that is GREAT to see. Chris has the most difficult job on Panic.. He is the fore deck man. His success in dinghies and then keel boats places him with the right attitude and mind set to take the fore deck of Panic and make it his own.
Sailing Bio So Far.

Started sailing mirrors when I was about 10 at Eyott sailing Club in South Woodham Ferrers. Moved to a Streaker, then a Solo alongside some crewing in National 12’s. Then I started sailing at BSC about 18 months ago in the laser. I’ve also done some cruiser sailing on a Hunter Impala at Burnham.

Martina Barry

Martina first sailed an SB3 last year during Pyfleet Week. Last year she started sailing with Geoff and Neville during the cold days of boat tuning in March and April, during which time she did the bow and managed the kite in 22k of breeze. She is now looking forward to the challenge of Panic. Her time in the Mirror Dinghy has given her an awareness beyond her yearsl. Her accomplishments include the following…
Won the Eric Twiname in 2004
Won the Irish junior championships 2006
Won the English youth championships 2008
First ever girls to win the Mirror national championships (been going on for 47 years)
Came 6th in the 2009 world championships
Came 2nd in the 2008 European championships

Will Brookes

Geoff met Will a few years ago at the SB3 Falmouth Nationals….He seemed to talk a good game. He sailed on the boat in the SB3 2010 Inland Championships where the boat finished 5th and where he got the name Will “The Hat” Brookes. His knowledge and skill make for a great addition to the boat. He has a tactical awareness is second to none…Add to that his strength and helming ability and he really is one to have on board.

Brian Carlin Steps to the Mark

So there was Geoff wearing a Sailing Anarchy top at the Laser SB3 Worlds…When a voice shouted out…I have to take a picture of that shirt… Well the rest as they say is history. Brian lives in Cork in Ireland and is a proffessional photographer, and when Geoff returned from the Worlds he contacted Brian and persuaded him to do some editorial “stuff” for the team. Brian will be posting video and show casing his work on the site, and reporting from around (dare we say) the world with updates as and when they happen.

Michael Tozer joins the TB4E Team

Michael is based in Australia in Adelaide and has been a big fan of TB4E ever since the early days.
He will be giving his incisive view and spin on the sailing world from an Australian perspective and we look forward to reading what the action is like down under.

Sail 4 Cancer

TB4E are proud to be associated with the Sail 4 Cancer charity and the TB4E shop will soon have plenty shirts and hats for sale, so we will hopefully raise some much needed funds for them. We propose to donate 5% from every sale. This has been made possible by clear to see giving us a special price, so please support them and visit their site, they do ALL the graphics for the team.

Mark Deverell from Weymouth has a hat and wears it all the time..

“I was up on top of the Dorset hills the other day in rain, driving wind and minus temperatures, the hat is warm, waterproof and comfortable” “A brilliant product, it works!”
